Yearbooks don’t document moments. They define memory.

/ Work / Created for Southern Adventist University’s student body, this yearbook captures the essence of the school year through a concept inspired by the iphone. A symbol of connection and memory, the design reflects how students experience and document their lives, resulting in a piece that feels both familiar and lasting.

About the project

Over 700 hours were dedicated to brainstorming, designing, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of designers, photographers, writers, and editors. I played a key role in both design and execution, including leading and coordinating departmental photoshoots.

Inspired by the phone as a tool for capturing and sharing life, the yearbook was developed as a unified visual experience that reflects how students document and remember their time at Southern Adventist University. Beyond serving as a collection of memories, it functions as a structured narrative of the school year, where each section contributes to a larger story of community, growth, and connection. Through intentional design decisions, editorial direction, and consistent visual standards, the final product preserves moments both big and small in a way that feels connected, intentional, and timeless.

Challange

Capturing a year while creating a cohesive identity.

The challenge was to translate an entire school year into a unified visual system that felt engaging, organized, and meaningful. With hundreds of moments, events, and individuals to represent, the design needed to remain consistent while still allowing each section to feel distinct. The concept also had to resonate with a student audience, using a theme that felt natural and relevant without becoming overly literal or gimmicky.
